Delivery: UPS - moving forward all UPS orders with a value of $100 or more will be sent out "signature required". We have had several incidents of missing packages that has caused this change. We feel that this will protect both of us from potential loss.
Shipping Time: From the time you place your order to delivery is usually less than one week in the continental United States. If items are backordered or if there are other unforeseen problems, delivery could take as much as 3 weeks. Call or email us to check on your order if it is taking longer than you expect.
Packaging: All products are shipped in plain brown overwrap boxes or paper. Only the shipping label appears on the package with the mailing address and the return address of the shipper showing.
We regularly ship via UPS, Fed Ex and the US Postal Service (USPS) but UPS is our default shipper in most cases. If you have a preference as to shipping method please let us know at the time you place your order.
When we ship to Hawaii and Alaska USPS is our chosen shipper because this is the most cost effective method of shipping outside of the continental United States. USPS often takes longer to reach it's destination than UPS or Fed Ex so if you are in a hurry for your order and don't mind paying the extra freight please contact us and we will arrange one of the faster shipping methods. When shipping to Alaska and Hawaii you will see extra shipping charges because these orders must go by air, which is expensive. For example, a recent order shipped to Hawaii for a hydro system, mylar film and three bulbs cost $152.00 for shipping by USPS. When shipping to Hawaii and Alaska our automatically generated shipping costs are only estimates, although they are usually pretty close estimates. We don't really know what the true charge will be until the products are loaded on the truck. For this reason we may need to add a little extra to your (our customer) cost for shipping. We will NEVER do this without first contacting YOU (our customer) and getting your permission to do so.
We sell and ship to the 50 US States, Mexico, and Canada but because we have been stuck with fraudulent (stolen credit cards, identity theft) transactions from non US countries we require payment by cashiers check, money order or cash transfer (bank to bank, Western Union, MoneyGram, etc.) before shipping outside of the United States. Please e-mail or call us to arrange for these types of transactions.
Handling Charges: We pay $5.00 per package (box, envelope, etc.) in handling charges to our shipper. This is over and above the shipping cost you are charged. In most cases this charge is included in the price of the product and we do not charge extra for it. But because we offer a full range of small items and we have no minimum order any order under $20.00 will incur an extra $10.00 handling fee. Any order between $20.00 and $60.00 will incur a $5.00 handling fee. For example, 10 barbed connectors at $.18 apiece will total only $1.80 and when we add the $5.00 handling charge that we pay we lose money on this order. Unacceptable and impractical! If we lose money on too many of these orders we'd go out of business and wouldn't be able to offer our great deals. Hence the handling fee for small orders. No handling fee will be charged for any order totaling more than $60.00.
Shipping Charges within the Continental United States: The table below shows the shipping charges that will be added to your total at the time of your order if we ship within the Continental United States. Remember that orders totalling less than $60.00 will incur an extra handling charge as described above.

Actual shipping charges through any of the carriers we use depend on a number of variables such as number of packages, size and shape of packages and weight of packages. Since we currently carry over 1500 different products and these products may be packed in a number of different ways depending on what is ordered, the above quoted charges are approximations only. They have been shown to be as close to actual charges as possible given our extensive experience. We will never charge more than the amounts quoted above for orders shipped within the Continental United States, though these figures may change over time.
