We have a wide variety of Plant Lighting H.I.D. Remote Assembled Ballasts from Sunlight Supply. The ballast is the power source of a lighting system. A complete grow light system needs a ballast, reflector/socket assembly, and lamp (bulb). There are four main types of ballasts:
Metal Halide (MH) Ballasts - Magnetic ballasts that operate only MH lamps (bulbs) - blue light best for seedlings and vegetative (green-leafy) growth stage. HPS light can only be used with MH ballasts if a special HPS Conversion Lamp is purchased.
High Pressure Sodium (HPS) Ballasts - Magnetic ballasts that operate only HPS lamps - red light for fruiting/flowering stage. MH light can only be used with HPS ballasts if a special MH Conversion Lamp is purchased.
Switchable Ballasts - Magnetic ballasts that operate MH and HPS lamps (one at a time).
Electronic Ballasts - The new electronic ballasts operate MH and HPS lamps (one at a time) with other advantages.
